If you saw the last issue of
Collegiate Arena, you probably saw the rule changes that will go in effect this Fall.
some of the more significant ones include:
1. Bell collar catch in the breakaway, no
extremities like a ear or leg.
2. All contestants must wear a school vest. Rough stock riders will wear a School Vest over their protective vest.
3. All contestants and coaches must have
on Western attire, this includes a vest for contestants, while in the arena one hour before the performance.
4. No contestant or coach may approach any
rodeo official about a call without being
accompanied by a student/ faculty director or event director. Question must be raised
by the end of the event for that performance. Any
coach or contestant violating this rule will be fined $100 for first instance and fines will double after each violation.
